Springer, the world's largest international publisher of scientific books introduces the world's most comprehensive digitized scientific, technical and medical (STM) book collection. The Springer eBook Collection offers the first online book collection especially made for the requirements of researchers and scientists. The collection includes online access to of more than 3,000 newly released STM books each year. The Springer eBook collection will increase the rapidity of newly published research in a broad range of scientific disciplines. Collections are made available through SpringerLink's IP-enabled eBook gateway, already well known to Polish libraries.
Full texts of eBooks are accessible via PDF and HTML formats for Windows, Mac I Unix. The collection offers high resolution illustrations, exceptional search capabilities and bookmarks, making research as fast and easy as possible. Allows integrated search in all purchased content at SpringerLink, including journals.

Springer eBook collection covers all subject areas in STM, making it an ideal database for interdisciplinary research. Included are many of Springer's most prestigious books, monographs, manuals, textbooks, handbooks, book series and major reference works.

Here are some tips that might help encourage usage and get the maximum benefit from the trial access to Springer eBook Collection:
- announce the trial via email to your staff and colleagues
- place desktop links to allow the public to use the resource
- hold a short demonstration for your staff, colleagues and students
- obtain feedback from the users towards the middle and end of the trial

- SpringerImages exceeds 2 million images mark. STM publisher Springer Science+Business Media, Germany, has announced that its online image database SpringerImages (www.SpringerImages.com), which launched in July 2009 with 1.5 million images, now includes over 2 million images. Read more »
- German libraries sign e-books agreement with Springer. STM publisher Springer, Germany, has announced that the German National Library of Science and Technology (TIB) and the German National Library of Medicine (ZB MED) have signed an agreement for access to Springer eBooks on SpringerLink. The agreement is claimed to represent the largest e-book deal ever to have been signed in Germany. It covers a national licence for all English-language chemistry, materials science and medicine titles of the copyright years 2005–08. Read more »
- Springer to publish Korean Society of Nuclear Medicine journal. STM publisher Springer, Germany, has announced the addition of the journal Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging to its journals publishing programme. Springer will publish the journal on behalf of the Korean Society of Nuclear Medicine, which has been the publisher of the journal since 1967. Dr. June-Key Chung from the Seoul National University College of Medicine will serve as editor-in-chief. He will be supported by an international editorial board. Read more »

- Springer and University of Hong Kong in deal for Open Choice programme. The University of Hong Kong Libraries has announced an agreement with STM publisher Springer, Germany. The deal allows researchers at the affiliated institutions of The University of Hong Kong (HKU) to publish their research in Springer journals using Springer Open Choice. Read more »
- ebrary launches medical technology database, expands existing offerings. Digital content products and technologies provider ebrary, US, has announced the availability of its new subscription database in medical technology. The database is targeted at technologists, engineers and other employees of healthcare companies that design and manufacture medical devices, equipment and instruments. It is projected to help users conduct research more efficiently and effectively, resulting in greater cost savings and faster development times for new products. Read more »
