Springer, the world's largest international publisher of scientific books introduces the world's most comprehensive digitized scientific, technical and medical (STM) book collection. The Springer eBook Collection offers the first online book collection especially made for the requirements of researchers and scientists. The collection includes online access to of more than 3,000 newly released STM books each year. The Springer eBook collection will increase the rapidity of newly published research in a broad range of scientific disciplines. Collections are made available through SpringerLink's IP-enabled eBook gateway, already well known to Polish libraries.
Full texts of eBooks are accessible via PDF and HTML formats for Windows, Mac I Unix. The collection offers high resolution illustrations, exceptional search capabilities and bookmarks, making research as fast and easy as possible. Allows integrated search in all purchased content at SpringerLink, including journals.

Here are some tips that might help encourage usage and get the maximum benefit from the trial access to Springer eBook Collection:
- announce the trial via email to your staff and colleagues
- place desktop links to allow the public to use the resource
- hold a short demonstration for your staff, colleagues and students
- obtain feedback from the users towards the middle and end of the trial

- Springer re-launches online platform SpringerLink. STM publisher Springer has re-launched its online platform SpringerLink (www.SpringerLink.com), which hosts nearly five million documents, including eBooks, journals and reference works. The redesigned site has a new and fresh concept that includes semantic linking and connects related content across eBooks and journals. Read more »
- Springer set to publish official journal of the American Society for Experimental NeuroTherapeutics. STM publisher Springer, Germany, has announced that it will publish Neurotherapeutics, the official journal of the American Society for Experimental NeuroTherapeutics (ASENT), beginning in 2011. With the switch to Springer, the journal will change its format of publishing review articles only to offering original research articles as well. The journal's editor-in-chief is Dr. Alan Faden, who directs the Shock Trauma and Anesthesiology Research (STAR) Center at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. Read more »
- Springer's Chinese Library of Science makes up almost half the SCI-listed titles. STM publisher Springer has announced that with the adoption of the journal Frontiers in Physics into the Science Citation Index (SCI), a total of 45 journals from Springer's Chinese Library of Science are now listed in the Thomson Reuters index. With this new addition, almost half (48%) of all English-language journals reporting on cutting-edge research in China and listed in the SCI are from the Springer stable. - Springer set to publish complete portfolio of Psychonomic Society journals. STM publisher Springer has signed an agreement with the Psychonomic Society for publication of the Society's complete portfolio of journals. These include Cognitive, Affective & Behavioral Neuroscience; Behavior Research Methods; Psychonomic Bulletin & Review; Memory & Cognition; Attention, Perception & Psychophysics; and Learning & Behavior. - OUP e-journal articles made available via FIZ AutoDoc with pay-per-view option. Scientific information services provider FIZ Karlsruhe, Germany, has announced that Oxford University Press (OUP) is now available as a new FIZ AutoDoc document supplier for the pay-per-view option. Articles from over 200 e-journals of OUP can now be ordered and downloaded immediately via FIZ AutoDoc. Read more »
