General Information about PNAS. PNAS is one of the world's most-cited multidisciplinary scientific serials. Since its establishment in 1914, it continues to publish cutting-edge research reports, commentaries, reviews, perspectives, colloquium papers, and actions of the Academy. Coverage in PNAS spans the biological, physical, and social sciences. PNAS is published biweekly in print, and daily online in PNAS Early Edition. PNAS Online receives nearly 4 million hits per month. The PNAS impact factor increased to 10.896 for 2001. PNAS is available by subscription.
Mandatory Online Manuscript Submission. PNAS strongly encourages all authors to submit digital files of their research papers online via the Web at www.pnas.org/submit. The online PNAS sizing worksheet is an interactive form to aid in calculating the character count. Supporting Information for the Web may also be submitted online. Because it expedites the submission and review process, online submission for Track II is mandatory. Authors in unusual circumstances who are unable to submit electronically should contact PNAS at
[email protected].
This system reduces the burden on authors of preparing 6 copies of their manuscript and figures and mailing them to the PNAS Office. Associated mailing delays and costs are also eliminated. We encourage all authors to submit papers via the new system and to provide feedback on the submission process.
