Karger Publishers unveils 'Open Access Gateway' – an information center with a fast and easy search tool for biome
2014-04-01

Biomedical publisher Karger Publishers, Switzerland, has launched its Open Access Gateway, an online platform that puts everything users need in Open Access, from an expansive database of free biomedical articles to information about publishing Open Access articles, at their fingertips.

The searchable Gateway has been created in response to increasing market demand for Open Access content and publishing options. The new platform addresses the content and information needs of everyone from researchers to institutions and libraries to funding bodies, and is now viewable online at www.karger.com/openaccess.

At the center of the Open Access Gateway website is a tool offering advanced search options. This ensures that researchers have highly efficient and convenient access to cogent articles from the complete spectrum of biomedical disciplines, including both fully Open Access journals and Open Access articles in Karger's subscription journals. Readers will also be able to see instantly which of the Open Access articles from the more than 90 Karger journals are currently the most popular. In addition, the Open Access Gateway provides useful information about many aspects of Open Access, including Creative Commons licenses and details about how to submit papers.

The Open Access Gateway is one of several initiatives Karger is undertaking to enhance the Open Access portion of its publishing portfolio. Karger recently began offering more Creative Commons licenses to ensure that all papers can meet the requirements of all funding bodies. Karger will also continue to launch new Open Access journals to provide quick and free access to research articles in every area of biomedicine.
