Oxford University Press announces continued growth in latest Impact Factor results

Academic publisher Oxford University Press (OUP) has announced continued growth in the 2015 Journal Citation Reports® (Thomson Reuters, 2015). OUP now has 220 titles receiving an Impact Factor, with 2 percent of journals ranked in the top 10 percent of at least one subject category. This reflects OUP's position as a trusted gateway to the very best scholarly research and resources.

Highlights include: 5 journals received their first Impact Factors; 57% of OUP journals saw increases on their 2013 Impact Factors. This is above the industry average of 52%; and OUP now has 8 journals ranked at the top of their subject categories.

In the Medicine & Health category the Journal of Crohn's and Colitis saw an increase of 75% on last year's results, and Social Cognitive and Affective Neuroscience also saw an impressive increase of 25%, increasing from 5.884 to 7.372. Both Annals of Oncology and Neuro-Oncology enjoyed strong results receiving Impact Factors of 7.040 and 6.776 respectively, ensuring their continued presence in the top 10% of journals in Oncology. Finally, The Journal of Infectious Diseases also saw impressive results in this year's JCR, moving up one position within the Infectious Diseases category, now ranked 4th out of 78 journals.

In the Science & Mathematics category, Briefings in Bioinformatics saw the highest increase on prior year results within OUP's science and mathematics collection, with an increase of 62%. Systematic Biology is now ranked 2nd in Evolutionary Biology. Poultry Science's latest Impact Factor has risen to 1.672 – which maintains the journal's position as the highest ranked journal dedicated to publishing poultry research. FEMS Microbiology Reviews maintains its 4th position ranking in the Microbiology category and Monthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society remains a top-tier title with an Impact Factor of 5.107.
