BMJ set to publish Journal of Investigative Medicine from January 2016
2015-08-10

Global healthcare knowledge provider BMJ has announced that it will publish the Journal of Investigative Medicine (JIM), which is owned by the American Federation for Medical Research (AFMR).

The first issue of the title under the new partnership is scheduled for January 2016, which will mark the start of JIM's 64th volume. JIM will add to BMJ's expanding portfolio of more than 60 world leading medical and allied science journals, including several that are published in collaboration with US based medical societies and associations.

JIM is peer reviewed and currently publishes 8 issues a year, covering the latest scientific developments in all medical research specialties, with the aim of translating these into clinical practice. JIM is key to AFMR's mission, which is to enhance, promote, and support clinical, translational, and basic research, and the work of researchers and physician scientists in hospitals, laboratories, government and academic institutions around the globe.

Editor-in-chief Dr Michael McPhaul, who has been at the journal's helm since 2004, will continue in his role.
