Elsevier updates second volume of Methods in Stream Ecology
2017-08-31

STM publisher Elsevier has announced the publication of Methods in Stream Ecology, Volume 2: Ecosystem Function, Third Edition, edited by F. Richard Hauer and Gary A. Lamberti. Updated to reflect recent advances in the technology associated with ecological assessment of streams - including remote sensing - Volume 2 covers community interactions, ecosystem processes and ecosystem quality. Elsevier also announced the publication of seven additional earth and environmental sciences books.

Methods in Stream Ecology, Volume 2: Ecosystem Function, Third Edition, provides a complete series of field and laboratory protocols in stream ecology that are ideal for teaching or conducting research. With a student-friendly price, the new edition is a valuable resource for all students and researchers in stream and freshwater ecology, freshwater biology, marine ecology and river ecology. The book is also appropriate as a supplementary text for courses in watershed ecology/science, hydrology, fluvial geomorphology and landscape ecology.

The eight new earth and environmental sciences titles are:

  1. Methods in Stream Ecology, Volume 2: Ecosystem Function, Third Edition, edited by F. Richard Hauer and Gary A. Lamberti;
  2. Marine Geo-Hazards in China by Yin-can Ye;
  3. Decision Making in Water Resources Policy and Management: An Australian Perspective, edited by Barry Hart and Jane Doolan;
  4. Basic Principles of Induction Logging: Electromagnetic Methods in Borehole Geophysics by Alex Kaufman and Gregory Itskovich;
  5. Practical Solutions to Integrated Oil and Gas Reservoir Analysis: Geophysical and Geological Perspectives by Enwenode Onajite;
  6. Water for the Environment: From Policy and Science to Implementation and Management, edited by Avril Horne, Angus Webb, Michael Stewardson, Brian Richter and Mike Acreman;
  7. Terrestrial Depositional Systems: Deciphering Complexities through Multiple Stratigraphic Methods, edited by Kate E. Zeigler and William Parker;
  8. Permo-Triassic Salt Provinces of Europe, North Africa and the Atlantic Margins: Tectonics and Hydrocarbon Potential, edited by Juan I. Soto, Joan Flinch and Gabor Tari.

In order to meet content needs in earth and environmental sciences, Elsevier uses proprietary tools to identify the gaps in coverage of the topics. Editorial teams strategically fill those gaps with content written by key influencers in the field, giving students, faculty and researchers the content they need to answer challenging questions and improve outcomes. These new books, which will educate the next generation of earth and environmental scientists, and provide critical foundational content for information professionals, are key examples of how Elsevier is enabling science to drive innovation.
