Frontline Gastroenterology journal appoints Prof. Mark Beattie as the new Editor-in-Chief

Professor Mark Beattie has been appointed the new Editor-in-Chief of Frontline Gastroenterology. The journal publishes articles about innovative and best practice in the fields of gastroenterology and hepatology. It is one of more than 60 specialist journals published by BMJ.

Based in Southampton, Professor Beattie is a Consultant Paediatric Gastroenterologist at Southampton Children's Hospital and leads the Wessex Regional Paediatric Gastroenterology Service. He has an extensive track record of research into paediatric inflammatory bowel disease over the last 20 years.

He has authored multiple publications on the management of Crohn's disease and other gastrointestinal conditions. Professor Beattie was the Editor-in-Chief of Archives of Disease in Childhood from 2012–17 and is the co-author of the Oxford Handbook of Paediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition. He was President of the British Society of Paediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition, 2010–13.

Frontline Gastroenterology is co-owned with the British Society of Gastroenterology. The journal publishes articles that accelerate adoption of innovative and best practice in the fields of gastroenterology and hepatology. It includes original research, reviews, education and practice papers, and news articles. It is one of more than 60 specialist journals published by BMJ.
