Yesterday was declared the winner of the literary award Nike.
The prize in 2018 went to the author of the book "Reczy, których nie wyrzuciłem" - Marcin Wicha.
NIKE is the prize for the book of the year. It is awarded annually in October for the best book of the previous year. The aim of the prize is to promote Polish literature, with special attention to the novel.
All literary genres (including autobiographies, essays, diaries, etc.) and humanities with outstanding literary values can compete in the competition. The competition applies only to living authors.
The prizes cannot be divided or awarded. The elaborations and collective works are excluded from the competition.
The winner is selected in a three-stage competition. The first stage is the jury granting 20 nominations, which are announced in May, the second is the selection of seven finalists announced in September. The decision to award the prize is made by the jury on the day it is announced and handed over. Until then, neither the laureate nor the finalists present in the room know the outcome of the competition.
