AAAS moves Science family publications to Atypon’s online platform, Literatum, to enhance reader experience
2020-08-11

The American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), the world’s largest general scientific society and publisher of the six Science family of journals, will be moving its full suite of online journal content to Atypon’s online publishing platform, Literatum, in the summer of 2021.

This move will encompass Science’s archival content dating back to 1880, the journal’s award-winning News and Careers publications, and the research and commentary in Science Translational Medicine, Science Signaling, Science Immunology, Science Robotics, and the open-access journal Science Advances.

The new platform will offer readers a more integrated view of content across the Science portfolio. Notable improvements will include enhanced search, author tools, and a reader-experience-focused redesign. The change in platform will also increase internal efficiency and flexibility, helping Science further meet the needs of the research community and better respond to evolving needs in publishing.

The new collaboration between AAAS and Atypon, part of Wiley, follows on the heels of the announcement that Wiley will work with AAAS to drive the STEM workforce forward by supporting and managing its Science Careers job board.
