The authors draw upon biblical, historical, and contemporary narratives, as well as Christ’s four-fold mission identity (Savior, Sanctifier, Healer, and Coming King), to answer the question, “In the midst of the challenges and joys of our modern world, where do we find Christ’s hope, peace, and joy?”
The narratives will reflect the rich diversity of global Christianity and will include stories from a variety of denominational and socio-cultural backgrounds. The selected narratives will address present-day challenges and complex realities facing global mission including religious pluralism, globalization, personal and communal suffering, and attitudes of paternalism, triumphalism, and ethno-centricity. Each narrative chapter will include discussion questions.
