This is because the retail industry has been among thesuccessful appliers of supply chain management concepts and Wal-Mart has used itstrategically in gaining competitive edge against its competitors in the retail store business. Itis also widely shown that cooperation among firms is encouraged and supply chains competerather than firms competing individually. There is a win-win outcome among firms within agiven supply chain.
