There is a growing demand for underwater wireless communication with the rapid expansion in marine environmental monitoring activities. The ability to effectively communicate underwater has numerous applications for researchers,marine commercial operators and defense organizations. Much underwater instrumentation requires high-speed data rates over a relatively long distance, in terms of kilometers, in a shallow water environment.
