This book is concerned with the glorious years from 1952 to 1957, when Chet Baker was still being called the "James Dean of jazz". Jazz photographer Wiliam Claxton accompanied the wonder child of West Coast Cool to concerts, performances and studio sessions. His photos of the period show a dreamily introverted Chet Baker whose charisma and appearance matched the sugestiveness of his art.
