Diet and physical activity are the main modifiable risk factors for the prevention and/or control of overweight and obesity in the pediatric stages.It has been observed that even when schoolchildren engage in regular physical activity at a vigorous intensity (more than 60 min/day), there are children who are overweight. This observation makes us value nutrition as an indispensable pillar in the prevention of excess weight and think that physical activity by itself cannot always control weight, that it is necessary to control nutrition in order to have an adequate weight for the pediatric age and to achieve adequate nutrition.
