Donna Baker's book is designed for professionals. It provides information on how to use the program, as well as how to use it effectively. Acrobat 5: A User Guide for Professionals covers all the major components of the program, and includes a multitude of Workflow Tips designed to give the reader immediate tips on how to use features effectively, how to make planning decisions, and things to watch for. Topics are self-contained within each chapter. Baker also includes a comprehensive project chapter that illustrates a real-life scenario, from project planning to form design processes. Acrobat 5: A User Guide for Professionals is organized into functional areas for ease of use. From a general introduction, the book moves into creation and security issues, then a general discussion on output options. Separate chapters are devoted to different forms of output. A chapter on JavaScript is also included for reference. All topical chapters have projects, tutorials, and demonstrations. The CD-ROM also contains a PDF version of "Appendix A: Other Resources" so the reader can link directly to the resources listed, using Acrobat or Acrobat Reader.
