Book description

Civil society and constitution making in Kenya explores the role played by non state actors in advocating for comprehensive political and constitutional changes in Kenya. Its theme is evoked partly by the political liberation struggles of the late 1980s and early 1990s, and partly by the return of multiparty political system in Kenya. The publication introduces a new thinking about the role that civil society organizations play and can play in sustaining pressure for democratic governance reforms in general and constitution making in particular. It will be useful to both POlitical and Social Science students and trainers interested in contemporary Kenyan and African politics. Otieno Isaack is a distinguished Political Scientist and a Democratic Governance Expert with degrees from the Central European University in BUdapest-Hungary; Institute for Social Studies-Hague-Netherlands and the University of Nairobi, Nairobi- Kenya. He is also a consultant political analyst, commentator and strategist with Eastern and Southern African expertise.
