Tamil Nadu is one of the largest poultry producing state in India, and has substantial amount of poultry litter available. Poultry litters are dumped in large quantities at poultry farm as a waste by-product leading to environmental pollution. In an attempt to resolve this dilemma, estimating the quantity and quality of available poultry litter in Tami Nadu paves way to start power generating units in this state. Electricity can be produced from poultry waste for the total daily consumption of most of the poultry farms to increase the profitability of the poultry industry.
