Inspection of teachers colleges for quality teachers is intended to meet the serious need existing in Africa for a textbook dealing specifically with subject of inspection in Teachers Colleges. The purpose of this book is to help the reader understand nature of inspection of Teachers' Colleges and its influence on preparation of quality teachers. It represents a broad view of the field of inspection and quality teachers suitable for certificate and diploma as well as undergraduate and graduate students following university studies in education. It is equally valuable to educational planners, administrators and tutors concerned with daily supervision of the education system in their countries. It is revealed that there is irregularity of inspection of Teachers' Colleges in Tanzania. College tutors are found to have negative attitudes towards inspection due to very poor implementation of inspections' recommendations and poor planning and organization of inspections. In most cases information gathered from inspection do not portray the reality of the normal learning environment and inspection is seen as remedial more than developmental.
