Breast cancer is one of the most common forms of cancer in women that forms a major health risk worldwide. Every one of us know about deleterious effects of chemotherapy. To over come this scenario numerous research works has been carried out to assess the therapeutic effect of medicinal plants from natural sources for the cure of various human diseases, including cancer.The use of plant drugs has been reported in the traditional systems of Indian medicine for the treatment of cancer, without any side effects. Hence, in the present investigation Ficus carica fruit was selected as the plant source to evaluate anticancer potency in both in vitro and in vivo.
