Punjab is the most developed, most populous, and most prosperous province of Pakistan. It is famous in the world due to its best irrigation system. Now the government of the Punjab province is bringing reforms in the irrigation system by establishing Punjab Irrigation & Drainage Authority (PIDA) which is an autonomous body. Asian Development Bank (ADB) and Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) have launched different projects for the improvement in canal irrigation system.
