Endodontically treated teeth often require a special approach, due to the specific biomechanical behavior of such teeth. The quality of the coronal restoration will directly impact on the survival and success of the endodontically treated tooth. The provision of a restoration with a good coronal seal has been suggested to reduce the risk of failure of a root canal treated tooth by reducing bacterial microleakage into the recently cleaned, shaped, and filled root canal system.
