Book description

The EVA (Ethylene-vinyl acetate) polymer waste has characteristics suitable for recycling purposes, transforming them into lightweight aggregates that can bring benefits to the built environment, such as, for example, its use in the form of thermal insulation for linings, as a covering. The present work was developed with the objective of evaluating the performance and thermal efficiency of linings using EVA particles + waste as sandwich panels in reduced model roofing. The research was conducted in the experimental area of LaCRA - Laboratory of Rural Constructions and Ambience of UFCG, Campina Grande - PB, between the months of July and December 2014. Five scaled models were built, using fiber-cement roof tiles, associated with 4 types of lining, but one without the use of lining (witness treatment). The tested linings were composed of EVA sheets, EVA sheets + waste from the pulp and paper industry (RPC), EVA sheets + waste from the wood industry (RM) and EVA sheets + ceramic waste (RC). Bachelor's degree in Agricultural and Environmental Engineering from the Universidade Federal Rural do Semi-Árido (2011) and Master's degree in Agricultural Engineering
