Oxford University Press (OUP) and the Society for Molecular Biology and Evolution (SMBE) have announced that Molecular Biology and Evolution (MBE) will become fully open access from January 2021, with the publication of Volume 38. This is an exciting new venture for the journal, which has long been established as one of the leading publication venues in its field.
Since its launch in 1983, MBE has been at the cutting edge of knowledge where evolution and molecular biology meet, publishing high-quality science from across the field. The move to open access will further extend the reach of the discipline-leading research published in the journal and ensure the journal maintains its strong position in the biological research world.
From January 1, 2021, all papers published in the journal will be free to read online without subscription. All articles accepted for publication from August 1, 2020 will be published open access.
