This is a book for high school students, college students, health sciences students, working professionals, medical students, and those who have survived any type of cancer or have any friend or a family member who is fighting cancer. The contents described in this book are in simple terms and generally address the message to the reader along with the relevant citations (research work published across the world). The information presented in this book pertaining to cancer has the health sciences perspective with insight on to how a student or a community member can start a cancer awareness campaign.

Members of the community (and the general public) have a crucial role in any person's health-whether that person has cancer or not. Readers are encouraged to read each page and try to understand what cancer is and how it impacts the individual who is currently undergoing treatment to cure cancer, as well as his/her family, friends, neighbors, community members, colleagues where the individual works/used to work, and the entire general public that may or may not be in contact with that person. Fighting a chronic disease like cancer is not possible just with state-of-the-art technologies engineered by current-generation researchers and technocrats.

This book will help people understand how they can address cancer by using factors outlined in the socio-ecological model (SEM) and some lucid and unambiguous communication media to reach a diverse group of audience, in turn, creating awareness campaigns and augment the understanding of various cancers.
