It is some years already that Czechoslovakia has ceased to exist as a country, and so the owners of CCCC felt it is high time that this is reflected in their journal’s title, too.
Therefore the Institute of Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic has decided to rename its journal, and at the same time integrate it in the journals family of ChemPubSoc Europe; which includes prestigious titles such as Angewandte Chemie or Chemistry - A European Journal. Please find a complete list of titles at www.chempubsoc.eu.
As a result Collection of Czechoslovak Chemical Communications will be renamed ChemPlusChem from 2012 onwards. As the new publisher Wiley-VCH will strive to further evolve the journal – based on its long and successful tradition going back to 1929. As a new member journal of ChemPubSoc Europe ChemPlusChem will follow the same high quality rules as all other journals in this prestigious portfolio owned by 16 European chemical societies. The multidisciplinary character of former CCCC will be kept and even strengthened further: The unique feature of ChemPlusChem will be that published articles cover at least two different subfields of chemistry or one from chemistry and one of another scientific discipline. This will make ChemPlusChem the first genuinely multidisciplinary journal in the field.
