LAUREACI I NAGRODY NOBLA

W latach 1901 - 2021 Nagrody Nobla i Nagrodę w dziedzinie nauk ekonomicznych przyznano 609 razy 975 osobom i organizacjom. Nagroda Nobla jest międzynarodową nagrodą przyznawaną przez Fundację Nobla w Sztokholmie w Szwecji i opartą na fortunie Alfreda Nobla, szwedzkiego wynalazcy i przedsiębiorcy. W 1968 r. Sveriges Riksbank ustanowił nagrodę imienia Sveriges Riksbank w dziedzinie nauk ekonomicznych ku pamięci Alfreda Nobla, założyciela Nagrody Nobla. Każda nagroda składa się z medalu, osobistego dyplomu i nagrody pieniężnej.

Osoba lub organizacja nagrodzona Nagrodą Nobla nazywana jest Laureatem Nagrody Nobla. Słowo "laureat" odnosi się do oznaczenia wieńcem laurowym. W starożytnej Grecji wieńce laurowe były przyznawane zwycięzcom jako znak honoru.

Prize motivation: The Peace Prize laureates represent civil society in their home countries. They have for many years promoted the right to criticise power and protect the fundamental rights of citizens. They have made an outstanding effort to document war crimes, human right abuses and the abuse of power. Together they demonstrate the significance of civil society for peace and democracy.
